The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories

First published in 1999, ‘The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories’ is a modern master of horror by Howard Phillips Lovecraft, an American writer of weird, science, fantasy, and horror fiction.
At the core of these stories, as with all the most engaging of Lovecraft’s work, is the impression that the Earth was once occupied by mighty and unscrupulous gods, just waiting for the opportunity to recolonize their planet. Cthulhu is one such god, stalking deep underneath the sea until called into being by cult followers who – like all humans – know not what they do. It is because of these dark, fantastical stories with their frightening grasp of the limitations of Man’s knowledge, that H.P. Lovecraft is one of the most significant American writers.
